Ready to let hypnosis and diet do the work for you?

From what I can tell, most people want to eat a mountain of junk food, go to bed fat and wake up thin, never having to think about it :-)

While it may not work exactly like that, programming the subconscious can considerably shorten the learning curve, and ease the pain of any diet.

They say the mind has 3 levels. Our conscious mind is our thinking mind. It controls what we think we want, planning and goal setting, reasoning, analyzing, setting intentions and making decisions. But it’s actually a small part of our total mind – maybe 10%.

The subconscious mind is like a deep well. It contains our feelings, memories and habits. It’s a combined state of all our inner programming – maybe 90% of our total mind. It runs our lives.

Many people think there is a 3rd level of our mind that is our wise mind or intuitive mind. Here there is access to a “knowing” even though you don’t know how you know.

In the subconscious mind, there’s a lot to work with, in that it’s very literal and suggestible. In fact, it simply follows through on the programming we have given it, or what has worked in the past. Of course, this can work for you or against you.

Diets often go wrong because when we think we are committed to a plan, the more powerful part of our mind takes over. The subconscious wants what it wants, and what is perceived as easy.

Habits and emotion will win over logic and reasoning every time! It’s those same habits and emotions that can send you running to the refrigerator for something that isn’t there, such as getting an emotional need met.

The subconscious also remembers the last time you tried to diet, and can subtly sabotage your efforts. If you hear self talk that says “It won’t last . . . you know what happened last time,” it’s your subconscious dredging up memories and sabotaging your weight loss.

What are you feeding your subconscious mind?

The subconscious cannot distinguish reality from imagination. In fact, it runs on pictures and imagination. So if you think to yourself “I gain weight just looking at food,” or “these brownies go right to my thighs,” you are giving instructions to your subconscious mind.

It’s like a big, hungry robot. You program it to do something and it does it, but it can only do what you tell it to do. Controlling your self talk is critical, because the subconscious mind is always listening for your instructions. Self talk is a form of self hypnosis.

The good news is that the subconscious is a VERY powerful tool that can be used to your advantage. Program in what you want and repeat it often enough, and you are in control.

Repetition is a powerful teacher

You want to have something positive coming in – constantly! We need positives to counteract all the negative input we may receive over time. It’s not enough to listen to 1 cd once.

Listening to hypnosis and diet cds, especially at night when the mind is relaxed, gives your subconscious powerful affirmations and suggestions. Remember that the conscious mind doesn’t even have to be listening, but the subconscious is ALWAYS listening. It’s more suggestible and trainable when you are in a relaxed state and the conscious mind can recede.
